Nammo Amitabha !
Dear all the honourable monks and nun !
Dear Vietnamese community friend and Buddhist followers!

Being a monk, who endeavors to live the fundamental principles of the Buddha-dharma, is also to dedicate one’s life for the benefit of human being and all other sentient beings.
We have just come to the United States with our  parent by HO (HR) program not long ago. We have not had many friends and fellowship yet. We are currently living in a rental house in which is not suitable for a monk stay. As a monk, we wish to live under a tranquil, serene environment. A temple is a need for us for workship, religious education and many various Buddhist activities.
With the help and suppose of some Buddhist followers, who volunteer to be the co-signers for us. We have acquired a land and plan to develop it to be a temple one day. It located on 16845 Old Hammond  Hwy BatonRouge, LA. Everything is just started. It is always difficult at the beginning. We still have a long way to go. Currently, we need to have a trailer to set up the altar of the Buddha. This trailer is also a place for the monks to stay.  We also need to install electric and water system. As the same time, we plan to construct a 300 foot long gravel road connected to the trailer.
We beg a favor of  your suppose. This will not be done with the contribution of your hands and donations. That’s the reason that encourages us to write this letter to all of our fellow friends and Buddha followers. We hope you don’t mind and ask for your pardon.
We are very appreciated of your contributions !
We wish peace, enlingtenment, and happiness to you all.

Thanks respectfully,
Venerable Thich Nguyen chanh
